TEAM TRIBAL (2017)
From the banks of the River Waal near Nijmegen, 1000 kilograms of raw clay were harvested—earth rich with history, sediment, and silent movement. This clay was shaped into dishes, pots, and sculptural objects, transforming the material into something intimate and communal.
Visitors were served food on these hand-made ceramics, bridging the distance between nature and nourishment. Each dish carried the story of its origin: the soil beneath their feet, the river that carved the land, and the hands that shaped its surface. In this moment, the boundary between artwork, utility, and ritual dissolved

The Stammtisch is traditionally a regular gathering of people around a shared table, often in a pub or café, to discuss community life, exchange ideas, and foster connection. The table is marked with a sculpture to highlight its status. It’s informal, open-ended, and driven by conversation. The Stammtisch becomes a place where dialogue itself is material: personal stories, collective memory, and local concerns shape the artwork as much as the clay and the tools.
